Salicornia instead of salt! Up to now sea fish were considered the only high-yield natural source of iodine. Now with Salicornia Jod Pulver a vegetable alternative has been re-discovered. As well as the European vegetable plant salicornia which has been known for centuries, the powdered wild oats contain a lot of natural zinc which eases the absorption of iodine into the organism. Especially vegetarians and people who do not eat fish every week can compensate effectively for deficits by supplementing their nutrition with Salicornia Jod Pulver. One teaspoonful (3 g) of Salicornia Jod Pulver per day is sufficient to supplement the nutritional intake with vegetable bound iodine. You can use it like herbal salt and season soups with it, for example or spice salads. In breast-feeding women the natural iodine from the salicornia enriches itself in the mother milk. The supply with iodine via the mother is therefore assured even in the case of babies who are breast-fed.
Note: Do not use Salicornia Jod Pulver at the same time as cabbage or foods containing mustard: The glucosinolate contained in these foods can make the utilisation of iodine difficult. Moreover, you should avoid water which is rich in nitrates, in order not to prevent the absorption of iodine into the thyroid gland.
